The 6th international specialized exhibition of headwear, raw materials, accessories and equipment CHAPEAU-2008 held at Gostiny Dvor from 18th to 21st of August has completed its work.
More than 350 companies participated in the show. Not only the majority of Russian manufacturers, but also well-known foreign trade marks from Italy, Germany, France, India, Czech Republic, Finland, Austria, Poland, Canada and Ukraine were represented at the exhibition. Interest to CHAPEAU exhibition has been growing with each year not from the side of participants and visitors, but also from mass media. CHAPEAU is not just a specialized industrial fair but also an indicative event in Russian fashion industry. In 2008 more than 15000 people has visited the show, more than 200 press representatives including the ones from the United Kingdom and Italy, 26 central and federal TV channels.

2008 is announced as Year of the family in Russia that is why the first day of the show was dedicated to family and children. The exhibition organizer, KORDON company together with Department of consumer market and services of Moscow has awarded dynasties of headwear manufacturers with memorable gifts. For many years of devotion to the business and succession of traditions: dynasty of Sviridyuk-Korzun, dynasty of Ledovsky, dynasty of Balayan, dynasty of Smirnovy, dynasty of Popovy, dynasty of Pinchuk-Volodiny, the founder of a dynasty – Galina Gorbunkova (DIVA company), Vyacheslav and Egor Zaitsev, the founder of a dynasty – Valery Bulygin (Bella company). Anther main event was a charitable action held with support of Union of headwear manufacturers and Association of headwear and clothes accessories manufacturers, as well as Sonchik Individual Entrepreneur, Absalyamova’s design studio, Prilous Individual Entrepreneur, Bolero, Artfud, Etel, Dolgopolova Individual Entrepreneur, Mehiko, Sava-Holding, Dantel, Lizard, Mialt, Siringa-Styl, Priolla, Shik, Beltrikotazh, Storm-Trade, Krokha. A huge amount of headwear and presents has been collected for orphanages.
Young talents festival SHAPYONOK is a good tradition of CHAPEAU. Not for the first time already children collectives accept our invitation to participate in the show. This time collectives’ collections were not marked with points and there were no winners, since all the collective deserve attention, all of them need to hear professional opinion and advice, children gown and their professional skills, creativity, ideas grow as well. All the collectives have been awarded with memorable gifts and diplomas.

Contest of headwear manufacturers CHAPEAU-2008. This year 32 companies participated in the contest. Contest of students’ works Future of CHAPEAU was evaluated by secret vote. 10 students have demonstrated their works.
