The 8th international specialized exhibition of headwear, raw materials, accessories and equipment CHAPEAU-2010 that was held at Gostiny Dvor on August 18-21 has finished its work.

On August 18, right after the grand opening ceremony a joint demonstration of collections of Slava Zaitsev and the companies: Grimoire, Lidiya Sviridyuk’s Salon and Exclusive.

Then participants and guests became the first ones to see the premiere demonstration of fur accessories collection of the Autumn-Winter 2010-2011 season by MKS company (Marina and Sergei Kaminsky, S.-Petersburg) and our head of the jury, famous Russian couturier Slava Zaitsev. |
But that was not the end of pleasant surprises, and the milliners club Millinery invited everyone to its haute couture demonstration “Ideas and images of Leonardo Da Vinci”.
| After the demonstration a few hours of the exhibition time were totally dedicated to children. In the beginning at the main runway of CHAPEAU show a charitable action in support of children and teenagers from social rehabilitation refuges of Moscow was held. |

When the action was over one could see abilities of young talents within the bounds of SHAPYONOK-2010 festival.

This year the organizers decided to change the traditional lottery a little bit, so the lottery was held daily during CHAPEAU-2010 show. Prizes for the lottery as always was provided by our participants and partners of the exhibition. |

And traditionally the first day was ended with the party - CHAPEAU Ball at Gostiny. |
The 2nd and 3rd days of the show were not less intense and interesting.

Universities and colleges’ students can take part in the contest. The contest provides young designers an opportunity to announce their work, demonstrate their skills, gain experience and knowledge, and for companies-manufacturers this is a chance to evaluate young specialists and expand the staff of the enterprise. It is not less important also that such a contest allows to demonstrate to the public an education and training level of designer schools, special nd higher educational institutions.
The international judging panel that evaluated the contest included this year:

On the third day of the exhibition the jury had to continue their work evaluating the main contest “The Hat of CHAPEAU-2010”.
The collections were evaluated at the main runway by open voting by 5-points system.
The goals of the contest:

to introduce the public new trends in headwear manufacturing;
-
to attract attention of trade organizations to headwear manufacturers products;
-
to create conditions that favour an objective evaluation of skills and competitive advantages of headwear manufacturers;
-
to support headwear manufacturers in promoting their brands in Russian and foreign markets (covering participants and competitions’ winners in press, on TV, on the Internet).

In each nomination contestants were fighting for the main prizes – CHAPEAU-2010 statuettes. The Grand Prix of “The Hat of CHAPEAU”, the heroine of the competition, a desired goal and an object of dreams for many authors – The Crown of the Headwear Empire”. |

After the contest at the conference room of the exhibition a Violetta Litvinova’s seminar “Trends in headwear fashion in Autumn-winter 2010-2011” was held.
On the last day of the exhibition, on August 21 the ceremony of the contest winners awarding was held.
This year KORDON company has established a prize for the best booth at CHAPEAU-2010 show. According to the decision of the organizational committee the best booth prize was awarded to the Sergeo&Leoni exposition. |

The 3rd grade diploma was awarded to Maria Levikova and Yulia Mit’kina, Russian State university of tourism and service, collection “Rhythms of the Sun”, 30 points. |
The 2nd grade diploma was awarded to 3 contestants since they appeared to have the same quantity of points: |

The winner of the contest and the holder of the 1st grade diploma became Natalia Anven, Russian State university of tourism and service, collection “White gosts of Albedo”, 34 points.

The main contest “The Hat of CHAPEAU-2010”.
The nomination “The best collection of headwear from fur and leather” – the winner is Ekaterina company, Moscow.

This year NAFA has established a spcial prize for designers whose collections were made of NAFA furs mostly. EKATERINA company's designer Svetlana Nikolayeva has been awarded with this prize. She made an amazing collection from NAFA Northern bobcat fur. When models in magnificent cloacks, jackets and hats created from this truly royal fur appeared on the podium, tit provoked a storm of applause among the audience.
The winner was radiant with happiness when she learned from the NAFA Eastern Europe Marketing Director, Oksana Moroz about the prize. The designer noted that wrking with NAFA Northern bobcat fur was a pure delight.
The winner received a fully paid by NAFA trip to creative Studio NAFA in Toronto in order to participate in the week seminar dedicated to the newest techniques of fur processing and creating the most topical models from the North America's best furs.
The nomination “The best collection of combined headwear” – the winner is Titan company, Novosibirsk, 36 points.

And the Grand Prix winner, the holder of the Crown of the Headwear Empire in 2010 according to the judges’ opinion is Mehiko company, Kirov.

During these few days we have done a lot. The exhibition has been developing in 3 directions. A lot of business issues have been dealt with within the bounds of the business programme. Daily contest and out-of-competition runway demonstrations has reflected the main modern fashion trends and new improved manufacturing techniques. And entertaining programme of the show has added a festive flavour to the event. We hope that our meeting was useful. Interesting and educational and productive for everyone, we hope that you have achieved your goal and that we all haven’t worked in vain! |
