The 10th anniversary exhibition CHAPEAU-2012 will open its doors at Gostiny Dvor on August 20-23. On August 24th a grand reception – CHAPEAU Ball at Gostiny Dvor for participants of the show will be held, at the ball an awarding ceremony will take place where the winner of the Best Hat of CHAPEAU-2012 contest will receive the Crown of the Headwear Empire. For 10 years of the exhibition existence hundreds of companies from various cities and countries have participated in it, hundreds gorgeous shows have been held on the CHAPEAU runway, thousands of people have become guests and then good friends of the exhibition. The most interesting and beautiful moments of course take place on the main runway. A show by Slava Zaitsev, the famous Russian modeler and unchallenged head of the judging panel of CHAPEAU-2012 headwear contest promises to be truly a spectacular sight! Bright and impressive collections of headwear and garments specially made for the jubilee CHAPEAU exhibition will also be demonstrated by well-known designers and modelers. The most special, attracting attention hats from various materials will be demonstrated on the runway during the “Hat of the CHAPEAU-2012” contest. Orgy of colors, variety of models, embodiment of style and fashion – CHAPEAU contests are a fair battle of the best of the best. Every participant will be worthy of applauds and enthusiastic looks of the audience, but the main prize – The Crown of Headwear Empire will go to one nominee only who, according to the opinion of the judging panel, will be the most successful. Annual contest “Imperial Style” where fur outerwear manufacturers participate also deserves special attention. Furs have an expensive and elegant look. It is a true pleasure to follow this contest. CHAPEAU show considers that another important aspect in development of the fashion industry in general and headwear in particular is attracting young designers and modelers. Annually within the bounds of the exhibition a student contest “Future of CHAPEAU” is held where students and graduates from specialized colleges and universities participate. Participation in this contest allows young modelers, designers, artists to present their creative potential to wider audience; it attracts attention of headwear manufacturers and manufacturers of ready-made garments from fur and leather; it is a chance for students and graduates to become a trainee or an employee in the leading manufacturing companies. The contest can support beginners in promoting their brands and names in the Russian and foreign markets (the contest and the winners are covered in press, TV and on the Internet). The contest is judged by a professional competent judging panel. An integral part of CHAPEAU programme is a children festival “SHAPYONOK”. There is so much ardour and fun in these demonstrations! But children’s collectives are not inferior to adults in complexity of implementation and beauty of the models. During the SHAPONOK festival Gostiny Dvor is filled with kids’ smiles bringing joy to the audience and participants. This year according to the good tradition a charity action CHAPEAU-2012 will take place. Participants and friends of the show are happy to support this tradition and donate their products wholeheartedly. In full swing of the party and fun CHAPEAU does not forget those who is in need of our help. After 4 days of intense work all the participants will be invited to the closed CHAPEAU Ball-2012 where awarding ceremony and handing of the Crown of The Headwear Empire will take place. As it befits a true Ball a proper dress-code will be required – cocktail style (a suit with a tie for gentlemen and knee-high and longer cocktail dress for ladies). And of course a hat is a must!
