On August 16-19 at Gostiny Dvor the 4th unique international specialized exhibition of headgear, raw materials, accessories and equipment CHAPEAU-2006 was held. The organizer – Russian exhibition company KORDON. More than 320 companies of Russian and foreign manufacturers from Italy, Germany, India, Korea, Finland, Ukraine, Turkmenistan and Iceland participated in the event. Exhibition area has counted 3500 sq.m. More than 20 000 visitors including a number of cinema and TV stars have attended the show for the 4 days. 32 TV-channels have been accredited. 

The exhibition programme was intense and diversified.

Business section.

At the ceremony of official opening participant and guests were greeted by Director General of KORDON Amiran Kortiashvili, artist and couturier Vyacheslav Zaitsev, I.Prudnikov - the head of Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry, M.Korostelyova - president of international club Lady-Lider, Lyudmila Ivanova  - general producer of international fashion festival “Velvet seasons in Sochi”, MKS company – the winner of The Headgear Empire Crown Gran-Prix and the “Headgear of Russia-2005” contest.

   On the second day of the show the Congress of the Union of headgear and accessories manufacturers was held. On the third day Association of headgear and garments accessories manufacturers held a seminar on the subject of “Reform of technical regulations for the industry, development of special technical regulations projects (GOST, TU), and Furrier’s School of Michael Hasse from St.-Petersburg presented “European specialists developments in work with natural furs, headgear decoration, mold method” seminar-master-class. On the last day of the show the Round Table of Association of headgear and garment accessories manufactures was held.

Thus the host of the seminars, master-classes and round tables have been sharing their experience and knowledge, and participants of those meetings had an opportunity to witness educational discussions.

Contest section of the programme was broad as usual. The sequence of the most interesting contests collections showings was open by the joint work of Vyacheslav Zaitsev and MKS company from Saint-Petersburg. Unique models from the maestro of the Russian fashion in combination with exclusive hats from talented masters of fur business evoke admiration and enthusiastic ovations. 

From the very first day a competent jury headed by the artist and fashion designer Vyacheslav Zaitsev have been evaluating the works of the following competitions contestants:

1. Podium CHAPEAU – Autumn-winter 2006/2007 headgear manufacturers’ collections showings;
2. Shapyonok – talented children works – children up to 16 years old
3. Future of CHAPEAU – students works, theme “Megalopolis hat”
4. Extra Class – contest showing of fur and leather hats
5. Headgear of Russia – was divided in 11 nominations and held at participants’ stands.

Out-of-competition showings of hats collections could be seen by anyone on the second and third days of the exhibition.

Model Agency “SLAVA ZAITSEV” is a permanent partner and aid of CHAPEAU fashion showings.

Awarding ceremony has presented the public the winners of the CHAPEAU-2006 contests – the best of the best, the most zealous and talented contestants.

 “For the high level of design of headgear and accessories” diploma – MKS company (St.-Petersburg).

Unofficial entertaining part of the programme included the following moments:
On August 16, in the evening all the participants were invited to the grand reception on the exhibition opening “CHPEAU Ball in Gostiny”, which also included buffet and entertaining programme with specially invited celebrity artists.

On August 18 many guest of the show became winners of the lottery and received prizes from the companies-participants of CHAPEAU-2006.

On the last day, on August 19 all the contestants had an opportunity to enjoy the picturesque panorama of evening capital, rest and communicate with each other while traveling on the cruiser boat on Moscow River.

It cannot be denied that CHAPEAU is an impressive and effective event I nthe fashion industry of our country.
